Cynthia Ellen Nixon (born April 9, 1966) is an American actress, best known for her portrayal of Miranda Hobbes in the HBO series Sex and the City (1998–2004), the film Sex and the City (2008) and its sequel Sex and the City 2 (2010). She has won two Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award and a Tony Award.
