Mae Margaret Whitman (born June 9, 1988) is an American actress, singer and voice artist. She is known for her roles as Ann Veal in the TV series Arrested Development (2004–2006) and Amber Holt on the TV series Parenthood (2010–15), for co-starring in the films Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), and for starring in the comedy The Duff (2015). Her first major studio role was as the President’s daughter in the 1996 film Independence Day.
